On September 5 (local time), Lenovo announced a new strategy, "Smarter Technology for All," in conjunction with the IFA 2019 consumer electronics trade fair held in Berlin, Germany. As a tablet product, two new models have appeared. It is a product that adopts Android and appeals for cooperation with Google Assistant.
The new models are Lenovo Yoga Smart Tab 10 and Lenovo Smart Tab M8. As the name suggests, it has a 10-inch and an 8-inch display. As the 10-inch is "Yoga", the kickstand rotates around the hinge and appears. The M8 is unique in that it comes with a cradle.
Yoga Smart Tab 10
The Yoga Smart Tab 10 is an Android 9 (Pie) tablet with a 10.1-inch full HD display. The hinge and stand have a mechanism for the first time in a while, but the stand is more compact and the design is more sophisticated. This is a big point.
SoC is Snapdragon 439, memory is 3GB or 4GB, storage is 32GB or 64GB, and supports LTE communication. It has an LTE compatible SIM slot. The hinge part is equipped with a 2W x 2W dual Hi-Fi speaker by JBL, and surround playback by Dolby Atomos is possible.
It has three directional microphones and is optimized for use with the Google Assistant when the stand is extended. The stand rotates 180 degrees, so you can hang it on a wall. It also has IP52-equivalent dust and water resistance, so you can hang it on the wall of your kitchen and look at recipes with Google Assistant while cooking. It will go on sale in Europe in September, with prices starting at €299.
Smart Tab M8
Smart Tab M8 is a product that can be used as a tablet when used alone, and can be used as an ambient mode for Google Assistant when placed in the included cradle. Since the screen is dedicated to Google Assistant, it is a mode that makes it easy to interact with voice and check the content. Equipped with two microphones, consideration is given to voice operation.
SoC is MediaTek A22, memory is 2GB, storage is 16GB/32GB. The display is an 8-inch HD, supports LTE communication, and has a nano SIM slot.
It will go on sale in Europe in October at a price of €149.
