On March 8, 2019, ASUS JAPAN announced the smartphones "ZenFone Max Pro (M2)" and "ZenFone Max (M2)" for the middle class market. At the product launch, I touched on the M2 series, so let's take a look at its appearance and features.
The ZenFone Max series features a built-in large-capacity battery that can also be used as a mobile battery. The ZenFone Max Pro (M2) has a 5,000mAh battery, and the ZenFone Max (M2) has a 4,000mAh battery.
ASUS is appealing that it can be used all day without worrying about the remaining battery level. It seems safe to use. I often browse maps and watch videos, so I'm happy to be able to use my smartphone for as long as possible.
ZenFone Max Pro (M2) is equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660, 4GB memory (LPDDR4X) and 64GB storage. The price is 35,500 yen excluding tax.
The display has the same 6.3-inch display as ZenFone Max (M2), but ZenFone Max Pro (M2) has a higher resolution of 2,280 x 1,080 dots. The notch with a 13-megapixel camera is also small, with a screen-to-body ratio of 90%.
The highly durable Corning Gorilla Glass 6 is used to prevent the screen from cracking when dropped. Even if it is dropped 15 times in a row from an average height of 1 m, it will not be damaged.
It feels cool when you hold it in your hand. It has rounded corners and is easy to hold. The back has a glossy finish that looks like a combination of a mirror surface and a wavy pattern. In addition to being slippery when touched, fingerprints stand out.
ZenFone Max (M2) is a model with Qualcomm Snapdragon 630, 4GB memory (LPDDR3), 32GB storage, and slightly lower specs than the aforementioned Pro. The display resolution is also 1,520 x 720 dots. The price is 26,500 yen excluding tax.
