It has been a month since Google's flagship smartphone "Pixel3" launched in Japan. On the day of the publication, I was very upset about "memory 4 GB." but it was smaller the next day, and now I have it in my hands as a daily partner.
Although it has been received for about a month, I am surprised that almost all of them are used in delivery now. It is unusual to play with developer options to some extent customized and enjoyable, given that all Android smartphones in the past were alternative home apps.
But maybe I think I will continue to use Pixel3 in the future.

That's weird.? Android but cannot be customized
At first, I didn't carefully replace the home app with my favorite "Nova Launcher" when I got the Pixel3, and then tried to double-click the power button or change the Active Egde (the operation of holding the phone's body) to assign the app.
But double-click is the camera, and Active Egde is a fixed Google assistant that doesn't change other features. In addition, the search bar on the home screen is also located where the dog is, feeling slightly different from previous mobile phone standards.
Feel incredible, first of all to maintain the default use, spend a week. Then I can imagine Google's intentions.
"it is AI... that uses AI..."
You can visit a good AI assistant right away.
One of the main functions of modern smartphones, AI assistant. But the assistant didn't use it much on the previous smartphone. I feel that the accuracy of speech recognition is not high enough, so it will take some time to start. Even the Gizz mode newsroom, where Taiji gathers, rarely sees other members using Siri or Google.
However, after Pixel3, I used the AI assistant every day. Speech recognition is quite correct, even a certain degree of long sentences can answer accurate answers, this is also the reason, but the most important thing is to kick the assistant before the action quickly!

Pixel3: speak with a "bang of the body" while holding the phone.
Writing an article doesn't seem to make much difference. However, there is a big difference in waiting time and certainty between confirming the "OK Google" call on the screen and confirming the vibration with your hand holding the phone.
This kind of waiting time is not high and the operation is rough (you don't have to press small buttons and icons for a long time, just touch the phone), which greatly reduces the difficulty of using an assistant. If what you want to know comes to mind, you can hold on to Pixel 3 and ask questions the next moment.
From the point of view of using the AI helper, the Pixel3 interface is acceptable. Holding the terminal and talking about it is "imitating SEKAI NO OWARI?" "although I was joked, I didn't mind.
Applications start faster AI magic
On the home screen, you can also see Google's "just use AI".
The prime section of the main screen, the bottom of the monitor. If it is another phone, there is a search bar where there should be an app terminal. The shipyard is up there. I had a sense of discomfort at first, but after getting used to it, I found that the configuration was quite good.
This search bar, in addition to searching, also acts as an APP transmitter, and the AI guy is very concerned: "this is the APP you want to use now, right?" "give five candidates under the bar. This candidate is so accurate that I hardly put the application on the home screen anymore. I can't even open the drawer.
To explain to iPhone users, a drawer is a library that allows you to view applications on your phone. Now confirm that there are 135 APP in the drawer. However, most scenes (somatosensory is about 60%) are recommended in time.
If there is no recommended candidate application, you can enter one or two application names on the search bar, narrow the candidate content, and immediately access the application you want. The range of finger movement is almost over in the lower half of the monitor.
So far, in order to quickly access the application, we have prepared several home screens and summarized them in the folder by application. Customization is fun, but it's troublesome and inconvenient to think of it now. Like Pixel, launching an application with 2 faucets (+ several character types) is absolutely easy and fast. If it is something, you can hold your phone and say "start Slack" to Google Assistant.
The camera is also a good feeling for AI.
The camera can also use the dedicated chip "Pixel Visual Core" for color adjustment and HDR processing, but what I personally like is the TopShot function, which allows you to choose several better clips before and after pressing the shutter.
This is also known as "time jitter correction", and it is a very convenient feature to track how fast / slow you press the shutter. So far, the automatic shooting of the camera can correct the "instant error of pressing the shutter" such as exposure and hand jitter, but the moment the shutter is pressed is handed over to someone else. But TopShot has fixed the moment of pressing the shutter itself, so it is possible to complete a good photo in a different direction from the previous correction (could it be an evil function in the eyes of camera fans? ).
Similar things can be done in video clips and burst shooting, but it's hard to choose a good clip without the help of AI. It is satisfactory to recommend a haircut. Feel the power of AI through messy operations to attract the best results.
Make good use of AI for ease of use
Smart phones are equipped with AI! When telling a story, "AI is necessary." "someone should be creepy about this suspicion. But touch Pixel3, you will feel "so it is", its smoke will be eliminated.
If you want to check something, you need a lighter, look for an app, or aim at the shutter. It is very comfortable to use AI power to reduce such a small daily labor force. I like the way Pixel3 uses AI very much.
Google will also suggest how to use smart AI in future updates. Just the published things, instead of the human phone call "Duplex" is super looking forward to. Therefore, in Pixel3, the biggest benefit of AI is the general environment of purchase.
I want to experience the favor of AI as soon as possible. Therefore, Pixel will continue to be in flat use.

The only customization I made on Pixel was "remove Animation" in "user assist". Because of the sudden change of the picture, it becomes more comfortable (this is my personal feeling).
Pixel 3XL:
I used the 3XL I borrowed from Google with my Pixel3. Whether it is video or reading, it is very comfortable to read the content. Using an assistant will not affect body size, according to your preference.
Pixel Stand:
Sam Rutherford of Gizmodo in the United States says "necessities", but using an assistant at the bedside does not find it useful. To me, it's just an expensive and powerful wireless charger. It doesn't seem to like it either, and the width of the boxes / accessories that can be used is also very narrow.
Is it the same as Pixel 2? :
Yes, Active Egde, the main screen of the search bar and Pixel Visual Core all started with Pixel2. I feel a little sick at the thought of having tasted this comfort a year earlier in a foreign country. Having said that, Pixel3 also carries Felica for Japan, which makes me very happy.
