Huawei opened the world's largest flagship store in Shanghai, China on June 24th. The location is Nanjing East Road, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Shanghai, and it is a prime location with huge stores of Apple and Samsung in the immediate vicinity. Moreover, the site area is 5,000 square meters, which is one of the largest in the world.
By the way, Dubai's Apple store, which is said to be the largest in the world, is 5000 square meters = 4650 square meters. It seems certain that the Huawei flagship store in Shanghai is larger than that.
So how big is the store? Currently, it is difficult to enter China due to the influence of the new coronavirus, and foreigners cannot visit the store. So I got a video from Huawei about the flagship store on the opening day. You can see the large and beautiful interior and the exterior of the classic historic building.
Photos of the flagship store can also be seen in the official Huawei announcement below.

I also got other photos this time, so let's take a look at some of them.
The first floor is "All Product Zone". Exhibits centered on the latest products such as smartphones, notebook PCs, smart watches, and wearable devices. Each product has a wide variety of colors. If you have any questions about the product, there is a staff member nearby so you can feel free to check it. The number of staff in the store is about 220.
The second floor is "AI Life Zone". Exhibiting examples of applications to daily life centered on Huawei products. Experience corners that utilize smartphones and wearable devices such as smart homes and smart mobility will expand.
The 3rd floor will contain an event space that doubles as a gallery and a customer center. You can buy a smartphone on the 1st floor, open it here, and give it a try.
Why Huawei opened the world's largest store
There is a reason why Huawei has opened such a huge store in Shanghai. According to Counterpoint, a major research firm, Huawei has overtaken Samsung to become number one in the global smartphone shipment share in May 2020. The difference between the two is only 0.1 points, but Huawei's smartphone sales are strong enough to overtake the champion Samsung.
However, due to sanctions from the United States, Huawei smartphones can no longer be equipped with the Google service "GMS (Google Mobile Services)" after the fall 2019 model. In developed countries, there are talks about sales struggles. In order to cover that, we must strengthen sales in our home country, China.
Huawei opened its first flagship store in Shenzhen, China in September 2019, and has since opened two large stores in quick succession.
Looking back at the counterpoint survey, Huawei's domestic share in China in the first quarter of 2020 was 41%, up 7% from 34% in the first quarter of 2019 a year ago, second place Vivo. There is a big difference with 17% of. Huawei's strength in China is overwhelming.
Huawei smartphones have top-class performance in the industry, such as camera, CPU, and modem performance. The reason for the strong sales of Huawei is not only the goodness of the product, but also the fact that it provides a place for consumers to experience the best products.
Huawei will continue to expand its flagship-class store development. I would like Japan to open a hands-on store like "Huawei Flagship Store Tokyo" someday.
