IPad is an eagle dedicated to games and video appreciation.
In any case, features that can only be used from iOS 11 to iPad have emerged, and now the operating system running on iPad has become a dedicated iPadOS. Into a completely different operating system. To commemorate the debut of this iPadOS (version 13 due to continuity), today we will introduce you to the excellent features of iPad that are not available on iPhone.
1. You can add widgets to the home screen
IPadOS became Android! This kind of atmosphere. When you swipe the first page of the home screen to the right, the display Today widget appears. This widget can be displayed directly there as long as you turn on the switch under "layout of the main screen" on the "screen display and brightness" tab of "Settings".
IPadOS allows you to resize the icons displayed on the home screen to take full advantage of the entire display of iPad. To increase the icon, select large in the Home screen layout, and to decrease, select more. In large mode, the display Today widget cannot be pinned to the home screen, but swiping to the right immediately appears.
2. Use iPad as the second display of Mac
On Mac running macOS Catalina, iPadOS and the new feature Sidecar, plus Touch Bar,iPad, will soon become the second wired or wireless display. In Sidecar mode, you can also use Apple Pencil instead of the trackpad and mouse. To start Sidecar, it is easiest to connect directly to iPad and Mac, or to the same Wi-Fi network, and then open the list of AirPlay devices from the macOS menu.
3. Dock can be used as a base for operation.
Dock is a Mac-style navigation bar. You can launch the application or access the various multitasking options in iPadOS from here. This is the previous feature of iPadOS, but there is no doubt that it is still the best iPad read-only feature.
Hold down the application icon for a long time, select reorder applications, and then drag to the bottom of the screen to pin the icon to the Dock. The Dock usually appears on the home screen, but when you open the application, it may become invisible. In this case, slide up from the bottom of the screen. I'll be back in a jiffy.
IPadOS can also create folders for application icons. Just as you always do on the home screen, you just drag the application and overlay it on the application you want to put in the same folder.
4. Open the application in Split View
Dock also plays an important role in Split View. For example, while opening a mail application, hold down the Safari icon on the Dock and drag it to the left or right side of the monitor. The Safari opens and displays side by side with the email. Drag the middle black bar to the left and right to freely change the display scale.
Applications that begin to support multiple windows are note-taking, mail, Safari, and so on. Try dragging another comment / mail conversation / tab to the edge of the screen while opening comments / mail / Safari. Split View appears. For example, this is useful if you want to view two web pages at the same time.
5. Open the application with Slide Over
In iPadOS, Slide Over adds multitasking. With the application open, hold down the application you want to SlideOver for a long time in Dock, then drag to the right or left so that it is not too close to the edge of the screen, then enter SlideOver mode and open the sidebar. That's it, just like old times. So, try sliding up the black bar at the bottom of the sidebar shown by Slide Over. Recently, you will see all the applications used in this mode. Slide the bar to the right or left to easily switch between the last and penultimate Slide Over applications used.
6. You can drag and drop.
If you make it into multiple windows and then display the app next to it-try to squint your eyes. You may be using a laptop-you will want to copy pictures and links from the application to the application. The display order can be set. Hold down the target file or link for a long time and drag and drop it into the target application.
7. You can move the keyboard.
Finally, the picture becomes clear and efficient on multiple monitors and Slide Over, but once you want to enter text, the keyboard is very big, a little bit. It's okay. In iPadOS, you can pinch and shrink the keyboard, drag it, and place it anywhere on the screen. Use two fingers to pinch in (pinch) the gesture to keep the keyboard moving, then keep both fingers (or the bottom gray crossbar) dragging to move to your preferred position. To restore the keyboard to its original size and position, use two fingers to pinch (expand) the gesture.
8. You can browse the file in the column view
IPadOS's File application supports more display types than the same application on iPhone. Open the file and try dragging down the right side of the screen. Three display buttons appear: icons, lists, and columns. In the column display on the right, the folder is contained in the folder, and the folder is also contained in the folder. Searching is useful in nested situations.
In addition, in the column view, selecting an image file, document file, and so on will open a preview window at the right end of the application. Some files that support preview can perform some file operations in the preview window, such as rotating images, comments, and so on.
9. You can browse desktop websites by default
The biggest difference between using laptops and using iPad is that iPad does not provide exactly the same Web experience as desktops. To solve this problem, Apple defaults to setting iPadOS Safari to desktop mode.
Perfect. This is impossible (I am sorry that Apple secretly uses backing on the iPadOS Safari to improve the appearance of desktop websites and does not point to devices (such as mice) on some sites). However, it works well on sites like Google Docs and WordPress.
10.Apple Pencil available
On iPad, Apple Pencil can be used as an ultra-precision and sensitive stylus. Unfortunately, it doesn't work on iPhone yet.
