Huawei of China, which is in the midst of a trade war, announced its own open source OS "HarmonyOS" at a conference for developers!
According to Huawei, HarmonyOS is "the first microkernel-based versatile operating system." It can be used on various devices such as smartphones, tablets, smart speakers, smart watches, wireless earphones, and automobiles. RAM sizes are assumed from kilobyte class to gigabyte class.
The ARK compiler for building HarmonyOS apps supports Kotlin, Java, Javascript, C and C ++. And in the future, it can be expected to be compatible with various apps such as HTML5, Linux, and Android apps.
"Harmony OS can always be replaced by Android OS," said Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei, who took the stage at the event. However, for the time being, it seems that Android OS will be used for Huawei's smartphone.
